Firefighters battled two blazes in the same road last night.
Two fire engines from Medway fire station were called to deal with a car ablaze in Luton High Street, Chatham at around 7.15pm on Boxing Day, and were joined by a crew from Rochester to combat an unrelated fire at a home three hours later.
The latter was a small electrical fire in an upstairs bedroom, which left no damage beyond some minor burn marks to the side of a table, and crews were only there for half an hour.
It took around an hour to deal with the car fire, which had left the vehicle completely destroyed by the time crews arrived at just gone 10pm.
They were there for about an hour working to extinguish the flames and the cause of the blaze is being treated as suspicious.
