A burst water pipe has closed a main village road.
The leak is believed to have happened along Bell's Lane, Hoo, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Southern Water engineers were spotted on the site around 9.30am assessing the situation and dug up the road to pump some of the water out.
Gill Hannah, who lives along the street, said the leak had stopped by 4.45pm and the gas board also showed up to check the mains.
The road has now been shut for safety reasons to repair the mains leak and is expected to be closed up until March 2 to allow the works to be completed.
A diversion route is in place along Main Road, the A228 and Peninsula Way.
Residents said they temporarily lost water and many have been experiencing low pressure since, although the mains are back on.
Some have even been preparing in case the mains are turned off or they loose it again and have been filling up pots and pans and water bottles.
There was also another water leak on the footpath in Knights Road, Hoo, around the same time and a no carriageway incursion has been issued until Tuesday.
A spokesman for Southern Water said: "We completed three repairs to burst water mains in Hoo between Friday and Saturday. These were in Bells Lane and Knights Road and were causing low water pressure for customers in the area.
"The three bursts were fixed within 24 hours and water pressure should now have returned to normal.
"Traffic management was in place while the work took place, and will remain until the re-instatement of the road is complete, which is expected to be early next week.
"We are sorry for the inconvenience while this essential work took place."
Anyone still experiencing low pressure are asked to contact Southern Water on 0330 303 0368.
