'Untouchable' drug gang taken off the streets

These are the faces of drug gang leader Calvin Smith and his recruits who have been jailed for their part in running a major network in Medway.
The men were sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court, and between them, they were jailed for more than 30 years.
The eight all pleaded guilty to supplying Class A drugs, after a nine-month police investigation targeting their operation, which supplied heroin and crack cocaine in the Towns.
About £20,000 was seized and drugs with an estimated street value of £6,000 were also confiscated.
Smith, 24, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 10 years.
His right-hand-man, Zouhir Ben-Kmayal, 27, also of no fixed address, was jailed for eight years.
Matthew Olujosun, 21, of Slater Close, Woolwich was sentenced to six years,
Karl Allen, 20, of Lonsdale Drive, Gillingham, was jailed for three years.
Lawrence Trowell, 18, of Pagitt Street, Chatham and Steven Convey, 18, of Rochester Street, Chatham, each received 30 months.
Two 17-year-olds were also sentenced, with one being given four years and the other 18 months.
Det Ch Insp Jon Sutton said: “The operation required a huge amount of hard work and dedication from the officers involved and I am pleased the sentences reflects the severity of the charges.”
