High Halstow clinched promotion from Shepherd Neame Kent League Division 3 on Saturday – but long-time leaders Upchurch missed out.
A thrilling final day saw Minster romp to a 10-wicket win over mid-table Gravesend in a game that lasted less than 42 overs.
That left the Islanders top of the table but Upchurch knew that victory would be enough to see them claim top spot.
However, Catford Wanderers posted an imposing 221-9 against Upchurch who, despite having home advantage, failed to chase down the runs and were dismissed for 149 in just 35 overs.
That left the door open for Halstow to claim the second promotion spot and they did just that, dismissing OD CUACO for 118 as they tried to chase down their total of 187.
