Yobs being hunted by police after damaging cars and ripping out flowers outside funeral directors in Delce Road, Rochester

Yobs damaged cars and even vandalised vases full of flowers outside a funeral directors in Rochester overnight.

At least 13 vehicles parked along Delce Road, were damaged overnight by vandals who mainly broke wing mirrors off of cars.

The yobs even ripped up begonias which have been growing for two years in concrete planters outside Naylar & Son Funeral Directors.

The flowers where ripped out and thrown along the road, over cars and on the path and the vandalism has been condemned by staff there.

Vehicles parked on the road from its junction with Rochester Avenue all the way down to The Cut near the bottom of Delce Road, had been targeted by the vandals.

A spokesman for Naylar’s said: “I planted the flowers outside our business because it’s hard enough for people to have to come to a funeral directors and arrange a loved one’s funeral.

“We have it nice and bright inside with lots of flowers so people feel welcome and we wanted it to be welcoming outside the building too.

“It is just to make it look nicer for people and when they come and see us and what’s happened is just not on.

“Whoever did it is a lowlife. I condemn them."

Police said they were told about the damage at about 7am this morning and were due to talk to victims later.

The spokesman for police added: "Kent Police is investigating reports of vandalism to vehicles in Delce Road, Rochester.

"Damage has been reported to a number of vehicles in the road, including broken wing mirrors and car windows.

"It is believed to have occurred between May 17 and 18. Inquiries are on-going."
