British Transport Police launch probe after vehicle crashes into side of Rainham Railway Station

A vehicle has crashed into the side of a railway station causing “substantial damage” to the building and rendering it “unsafe”.
British Transport Police (BTP) reported the incident at Rainham shortly after 9am.
Pictures show part of building completely caved in, with bricks and debris scattered on the ground.
The bike rack is also damaged and parts of a car or motorbike appear to have fallen off on impact.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, BTP said: “We are currently on scene at Rainham as staff reported a vehicle has crashed into the station.
“As you can see the unknown vehicle has done substantial damage to the building rendering it unsafe.
“Officers are on scene viewing CCTV and will seize the identifying vehicle parts.”
It is understood that the incident has not caused any delays to services running today.
