A229 Blue Bell Hill London-bound near M2 turn-off cleared following earlier vehicle fire

Traffic is easing on a busy A-road after a vehicle caught alight.
The slip lane from the A229 Blue Bell Hill, near Chatham, to the Junction 3 turn-off for the M2 has re-opened following the incident.
Traffic is now moving on the London-bound carriageway.
Police and fire crews were in attendance to the blaze.
Spokesperson for Kent Police, Scarlett Drayson, said: "Kent Police was called at 4.24pm to a report of a vehicle alight.
"Officers attended the scene on the Chatham-bound side of the A229 Blue Bell Hill where a road closure was put in place to assist KFRS.
"The northbound slip road leading from the A229 to the M2 remains closed while the road surface is being assessed for any repairs."
