Villagers living around Medway cut off from the Towns due to heavy snow and untreated roads

Villagers in Allhallows on the Hoo Peninsula have been cut off by several feet of drifting snow overnight.
Residents have been left stranded in their homes after a heavy blanket of snow was blown from the fields on to the main road leading into village.
Andy Lambourne got up to go to work early this morning to discover that all routes were impassable and the snow has started again.
Mr Lambourne, 40, of Avery Way, said he and his family had enough provisions but he had been checking up on elderly neighbours.
Mr Lambourne, who works at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, said: "We are sort of used to it out here.
"We had the Army come out here in the 80s with bread and milk.
"We are quite a close-knit community and look out for each other."
Farmers have been out in their tractors in a bid to clear roads in the Cliffe area. But strong winds are continually blowing fresh snow off open land on to country lanes.
Sue Hibbert, Cliffe and Cliffe Woods parish council clerk, said she awoke to five foot of snow in her back garden.
Mrs Hibbert, said: "I have been to clear my neighbour's path and doorway because she could not get out of the house.
"I am running out of milk and the shopkeeper can't get in to open up.
"At the other shop at the end of the road they have run out of bread and won't be getting any more until Saturday."
Medway Council have sent extra winter vehicles to the peninsula to help clear the snow.
