Crowds turn out for Rotary Club of Medway's Beer and Cider Festival

Large crowds revelled in the sunshine at the Rotary Club of Medway’s Beer and Cider Festival.
Held at the Star Meadow Sports Club in Darland Avenue, Gillingham, hundreds of people enjoyed the drinks and barbecue on offer.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Medway, more than £5,000 was raised for the group’s charities, including Shelter Box, which provides temporary homes globally during disasters.
Club spokesman Geoff Waters said: “It went very well. There was a good crowd and good atmosphere and great music too.
“There were lots of things going on, lots of beers and ciders for people - it was brilliant.
“The weather was almost too hot to start with but we had a steady flow of people coming along all day.
“We had great help from volunteers who aren’t part of the rotary club and support from the Medway First Responders.
“We also need to thank the Star Meadow for letting us use the site for another year.”
There was also a raffle which included the chance to watch a Gills match in a box next season.
