The world's most-wanted female terror suspect who was reportedly killed by a drone strike in Syria last year could still be alive, says an expert.
Sally Jones, 50, took her son to Syria with her in 2013 when she travelled to join "the caliphate" and marry terrorist hacker Junaid Hussain.
A source quoted in several national newspapers said: “It’s 99.9% certain they were both killed.”
But now, a Canadian IS fighter who was captured by Kurds in Syria has said Jones escaped the attack and is hiding in the country's north east.
Muhammed Ali, known as Turab, told Amarnath Amarasingam, a research fellow at the University of Waterloo, that Jones is hiding out in the country’s north east.
Mr Amarnath told The Mirror: “Turab claimed she was still alive and probably in final ISIS holdouts of Hajin or As-Shafah.
"If true, we may find her captured soon.”
Jones' son JoJo is also said to be alive, having reportedly been spotted in As-Shafah. His whereabouts are unknown.
