A228 Sundridge Hill crash victim in serious condition in hospital as Rochester woman arrested

A woman remains in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car.

She had been pushing her bicycle along the A228 Sundridge Hill near Strood when a grey Citroen C4 Picasso collided with her.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a London hospital.

A 43-year-old woman from Rochester was arrested in connection with the crash and released under investigation.

The incident took place at about 3.35pm on Friday. The car had been travelling towards Cuxton.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was travelling along that road and has dashcam footage to call their appeal line on 01622 798 538 or email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk quoting SM/FM/003/20.
