A woman was injured after being “catcalled” and struck by an object thrown from a car.
The incident happened last Friday (February 2) between 11.15pm and 11.30pm along Station Road in Rainham.
The woman in her 20s says she was walking along the road when the vehicle passed her.
“A speeding black car with a male hanging out of it threw an object at my face with force,” she said.
“They catcalled us to make us turn and then threw the object directly at my face.
“Luckily I only have a swollen lip but it could’ve been much worse.”
She added: “I couldn’t believe that people would do such a thing, let alone to a complete stranger!
“I just wanted to make people aware in case they are targeting people around the area.”
She says officers are looking into CCTV and police have confirmed they are investigating a report of an assault.
A spokesman from the force said: “A woman in her 20s was walking along Station Road when her face was struck by an object allegedly thrown from a passing car.
“The victim suffered swelling and bruising and enquiries are underway to identify the occupants of the vehicle.”
Anyone with information that may assist is urged to call Kent Police on 01634 792209, quoting crime reference 46/18887/24.
