Detectives investigating abuse allegations at a youth jail have charged a woman.
Rebecca Harold, 24, of Grecian Street in Maidstone, has been charged with common assault.
She has been released on bail and will appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on August 23.
Nine other people who have been arrested in connection with the allegations remain on police bail until September 21.
Two other people who were arrested have been released without charge.
The investigation was launched after the BBC's Panorama programme sent an undercover reporter into the Rochester site between October and December last year.
The documentary, which was broadcast in January, showed staff appearing to use excessive force on some young inmates.
Since the allegations came to light, staff have been re-trained and the Ministry of Justice is set to take over the running of the site from private security firm G4S.
Regional President for G4S in the UK and Ireland, Peter Neden, said: “Medway has since transferred to the management of the National Offender Management Service (NOMS).
“We will continue to offer Kent Police our full support and cooperation as they rightly pursue their important investigation.”
