A woman died from a fractured skull and bleeding caused by a fall after walking in and out of traffic, an inquest heard.
Lisa Lancaster, 44, was found collapsed in the street in Balmoral Road, in Gillingham, on Saturday, December 13.
Ms Lancaster, formally of Britton Street, Gillingham, was taken to hospital by air ambulance, but never recovered.
Coroner Patricia Harding opened an inquest at Archbishops Palace on Tuesday, and recorded her death as an accident as the result of a fall.
She had a fractured skull and bleeding between her skull and brain.
Balmoral Road was busy with Christmas shoppers when CCTV showed Ms Lancaster walking through the traffic with another woman.
At the time, police cordoned off part of the area and arrested a 44-year-old woman on suspicion of assault.
She was later released without charge.
A police spokeswoman said at the time her death was not suspicious, and added: “CCTV appears to show the pair walking in and out of traffic before Ms Lancaster fell and sustained her injury.”
One floral tribute left at the scene read: “RIP Lisa. A great lady taken too soon.”
