Woman taken to hospital after crash in Rock Avenue, Gillingham

A woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car.
Ambulance and police services were in attendance after reports of the collision in Rock Avenue, Gillingham, at around 10am this morning.
One witness has reported that the incident was a hit and run at the zebra crossing.
The woman was walking two dogs at the time which ran off during the incident, but both have now been found.
The top of Rock Avenue was shut off while police and ambulance services were in attendance but it has now reopened.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service where a woman had been hit by a car.
"The woman is being taken to a local hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing to establish more around the circumstances of the incident."
A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: "SECAmb was called shortly after 10am today to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Rock Avenue, Gillingham.
"Ambulance crews attended the scene and the pedestrian was assessed and treated before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital."
