A woman was robbed as she walked through an alleyway in Chatham.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after the woman in her twenties was robbed of a small amount of cash at about 4pm on Monday, in an alleyway off Kingston Crescent in Lordswood.

The suspect is white man of large build and about 6ft tall.

He was wearing a light-coloured baseball cap and a grey hoodie with a black emblem on the chest.

Police also said there had been no other incidents of the same nature reported to them this week, despite some people living in the neighbourhood believing two people had been mugged.

  • Anybody with information about the mugging is asked to call DC Eleanor Hughes on 01634 792415, quoting crime reference XY/33825/13. Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
