A woman had to run from her home after being woken and threaten by a burglar.
Officers were called after a man reportedly forced his way into a house in Chatham.
While inside the Ordnance Street property he woke a woman who was sleeping in a bedroom before threatening her.
The victim was able to run from the house at around 3.30am on Sunday and seek help.
Police found an open downstairs rear window. They also found a screwdriver inside the bedroom which they believe belonged to the suspect.
Officers are linking the incident to an alleged attempted burglary in the same road where at around 3.10am a loud noise was heard before a bathroom window was found open.
It is also believed to be related to another report at 1.30am where footsteps were heard on a roof extension. The victim confronted the man who then threatened them before he was seen jumping over a nearby garden fence.
The suspect has been described as white with dark hair and wearing grey jogging bottoms and a dark puffer-style jacket.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 01634 792209 quoting reference 46/107641/22.
