Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a designer handbag stolen from a woman in a pub.

The woman was enjoying an evening out at the Eagle Tavern pub in Rochester High Street, when her Jimmy Choo bag went missing.

The incident happened just after 11.30pm on Friday, February 21, but details have only just been release by police.

The bag, which is worth £1,500, had a gold chain and was made from eel and python skins.

All of the items in the bag were also stolen, including an iPhone 4s, £150 worth of make-up and £70 cash.

PC Nick Pebody, who is investigating the incident, said: “We are keen to speak to the man in the CCTV images as he might have information that could help with our enquiries.

“I would also urge anyone who recognises this man to contact police.

“Rochester is a safe place to go out, but this incident highlights the importance of keeping your valuable items with you at all times to avoid being targeted by an opportunist thief.”
