Workman injured in fall from excavator

A MAN was taken to hospital today after he plunged from an excavator and landed on its caterpillar tracks on the Medway City Estate.
The 37-year-old man was working for Skip-Away Waste Disposal Company in Clipper Close when he fell a\bout 10 feet. He was putting water into the radiator of the JCB when he slipped and jarred his back.
Paramedics treated him at the scene and took him to Medway Maritime Hospital. Firefighters from Strood helped in the operation.
By the time the man was taken to hospital he was speaking and was able to wriggle his toes. Health and Safety Executives are investigating the incident.
