Ady Pennock was given an eye-opener on Saturday and he didn’t like what he saw.
The new Gillingham head coach is demanding major improvements from his newly-inherited side following their 1-0 defeat at bottom club Oldham.
But whether some players get another chance remains to be seen.
Pennock said: “We will see. I have learned a lot, that’s the biggest thing, we just need to learn and move on.
“We can tell them to do things and if they don’t do it then we look elsewhere.
“Supporters have paid a lot of money to go up and watch the team and gone a long way, especially in the weather conditions we have had in Kent, and first half was very poor.
“I am not having that again.”

Pennock unimpressed by Gills performance
The Gills were a goal down at the break following an opening half that shocked the new boss.
A slight improvement after the break wasn’t enough to get a goal back.
Pennock added: “We have Sheffield United next week and you need men in those situations.
“We have to move on and we will learn from it. I have told them a few things, a few home truths straight away, which they need to know.
“I told them before the game that they need to roll their sleeves up in games like this and battle, it isn’t always going to be pretty.
“We need to work hard. We have 20 games to go and hopefully that doesn’t happen again.”
