Reaction from Justin Edinburgh as Gillingham lose 1-0 to Blackpool in League 1

Boss Justin Edinburgh pointed to a lack of quality in the Gills team on Saturday.
Edinburgh’s side were beaten 1-0 at Blackpool in the League 1 clash.
The manager said: “The conditions were tough and the pitch wasn’t conducive to the way we wanted to play.
“In terms of effort and commitment we gave it all we could, but we lacked that little bit of inventiveness and quality in the final third.
“There was one lapse of concentration and there was nothing in the game, really. A draw would have been fair for both teams.”
The lack of concentration came just before the break as the Gills conceded a penalty which Blackpool converted.
“They are tough decisions to call,” said Edinburgh before he had chance to review the incident.
“There was a lapse of concentration leading up to it, there was a dangled leg which led to one free-kick. We didn’t clear the ball and the inevitable happens if you are not on the front foot. We got punished.
“I don’t know if we deserved to win the game. I certainly don’t feel that we deserved to lose.”
