Most of the Premier League’s top sides were in action on Wednesday night with Manchester City, Newcastle United and Liverpool among the sides winning through to the next stage.

Gillingham will be hoping for another big tie after seeing off Premier League Brentford in the third round on Tuesday night.

Mikael Mandron headed home the goal to take the match against Brentford to penalties and then scored the first of Gillingham’s six spot-kicks in the shootout win.

He wants one of the big teams away, saying: “I want Liverpool away, I have never been to Anfield and I want to experience that atmosphere. Playing at (Manchester United’s) Old Trafford would be amazing, they would be my favourite.

“It would have been Arsenal but they got knocked out unfortunately. I will be watching the draw tonight!”

For manager Neil Harris, he just wants anyone at home.

He said: “Personally I would love to play at home, whoever, whether it’s Manchester United or Villa, Lincoln or MK Dons, I always want a home tie. If it is away then so be it.

“Everyone was looking forward to Brentford but also a bit mindful that it could have been a tough evening. In my opinion we caused one of the biggest upsets the Carabao Cup has ever seen.

“We were fifth bottom in the (League 2) going to a team 11th in the Premier League. Just because it’s Brentford and not Newcastle, Everton or an Aston Villa, Brentford are there on merit and could be higher in the league.

“We deserve the credit and recognition of beating 11th in the Premier League.”
