Chatham boxer Karol Itauma has won gold at the Youth Olympics.
The 17-year-old St Mary's boxer beat Russia's Ruslan Kolesnikov in the light-heavyweight final.
Britain had never won gold in boxing at the Games before but clinched three in Argentina.
"I'm over the moon," said the Medway teenager at winning his gold-medal fight.
"All of those hours training at St Mary's and with the England team has paid off."
Itauma - who lost on a split decision in the world youth championship quarter-finals earlier this year - was one of four GB boxers selected for action.
The boxing programme got underway on Sunday, with Greenacre Academy pupil Itauma beating an opponent from Peurto Rico to progress to the semi-finals.
Itauma then won his semi-final bout on the Tuesday, with a unanimous points decision to see off Egypt’s Youssef Ali Kara Ali Moussa
Buenos Aires 2018 hosted just under 4,000 of the world’s best young athletes from 206 nations for the third edition of the Games.
Diver Tom Daley is among several to have gone onto win medals at an Olympic Games having first competed at the Youth Olympics.
A spokesman from his gym said: "To say St Marys are proud of Karol, would be an understatement!
"Hopefully winning youth Olympic Gold boosts his profile further and the local community support him and follow his journey."
