Chatham boss Paul Piggott says he will take disciplinary action against defender Abdul Lyoubi after he was accused of spitting at Corinthian Casuals’ Jack Strange on Saturday.

The incident overshadowed Chatham’s draw in Ryman League Division 1 South.

It sparked off a 22-man brawl 10 minutes from time and trouble broke out again at the final whistle, with Strange being shown a red card.

Piggott, who substituted left-back Lyoubi, said: “There was an incident and not a good one.

“A lot of pushing and shoving was caused by it, but I dealt with it then, and I will do so again internally this week.

“The one thing I don’t want it to do is detract from what we did in the game, because it was a very good point and performance.”
