Medway and Maidstone AC's Tom Collins wins ninth Folkestone Rotary Half-Marathon as near 600-strong field takes to the streets

Almost 600 runners took to the streets for the ninth Folkestone Rotary Half-Marathon on Sunday.
Tom Collins (Medway and Maidstone) won the race in 1hr14min, finishing more than four minutes clear of second-placed Robert Latala (unattached). Dartford Road Runners’ Terry Reeves crossed the line in third.
Liz Weeks won the women’s race for Sittingbourne Striders in 1:24, with Sarah Gruber and Cathy Newman completing the top three.
The team prize on Sunday went to Folkestone Running Club, who had four finishers in the top 10.
Andy Fletcher ran 1:21.28 to finish fourth and Mark Ellerby was sixth in 1:23.52. Ninth-placed Steve O’Brien clocked 1:25.24 and Phil Hoyland was 10th in 1:26.44.
