Relegation from League 1 could spur Bradford on, warns Gillingham coach Ian Cox

Gillingham are unsure what to expect when they face Bradford on Monday.
The Bantams had their relegation from League 1 confirmed on Friday, losing 2-0 at Coventry.
Bradford – who could include former Gills captain Josh Wright in their team – are likely to finish bottom of the table and defeat to Steve Lovell’s side would confirm that.
But after a season of turmoil at Valley Parade, where two managers were fired before Gary Bowyer took over last month, there could be a change in performance now their fate is sealed.
“I don’t think you can call it really,” said Gills coach Ian Cox. “It can go one of two ways. The fact that the pressure is off them now they have gone down, they could play without any fear, with a bit of freedom.
“Equally, they may well want to do themselves some justice. I don’t think we can go there and rest on our laurels at all.
“Whatever team they put out and whoever they pit their wits against us, we need to make sure we are ready for another battle.
"We’ve got three battles left and we need to make sure we conduct ourselves appropriately.”
Graham Burke could come back into contention after missing Good Friday’s game against Plymouth with an infected foot, while Leo Da Silva Lopes missed out again through illness.
Changes to the starting XI are likely after Elliott List and Tahvon Campbell both made a positive impact having come off the bench at the break, helping turn the game at Priestfield on its head with a 3-1 comeback victory.
“We will have to assess the situation and see where we go,” added Cox, giving little away.
