Returning Gills midfielder Andrew Crofts is seeking success on three fronts.

Gillingham’s new signing hopes to be heading to Euro 2016 after celebrating two promotions.

Crofts is back with the Gills on loan from Championship promotion-chasers Brighton, making his return in the 1-1 draw at Southend on Saturday.

“I have three massive goals,” said the 31-year-old midfielder.

“Brighton getting promoted, the Gills getting promoted and winning a place in the Euros. They are the three goals I am going to work as hard as I can towards.

It was the chance to play for Wales in the European Championships this summer in France that led to him re-joining Gillingham.

Wales manager Chris Coleman told Crofts he needed to be playing games to be considered and that, in recent weeks, hasn’t been happening at Brighton.

With the Gills short of numbers, including the loss of skipper Doug Loft, it was a move that suits both parties.

Crofts said: “With the Euros coming up I think it was important to get some games under my belt from now until the end of the season. There is no better club to do it for, my hometown club where I have had many good years.”
