Heavyweight Tom Dallas to face Ali Adams for Southern Area title on March 14 at York Hall, Bethnal Green

Tom Dallas has been handed a chance to break back into the boxing big-time.
The Chatham heavyweight hasn’t fought since September 2013 when he was stopped inside two rounds by Ian Lewison as the two fought for the southern area title.
Dallas has shunned big money and big names over the last year, in a bid to take a clean break from the sport but now he’s got a title shot and glory in his sights.
Standing in his way for the area title the same time around is Iraqi-born Ali Adams and Dallas – a pro since 2008 – knows this may well be his last hope of glory.
Dallas said: “I’ve got one more opportunity now to have a proper go and if it doesn’t work out, then I’ll just become a journeyman and take fights all day long.
“I could earn a fair bit as a journeyman, especially in the heavyweight division, as people want to see blood and knockouts but I would rather try and do this, where I could end up making really big money if successful.”
Dallas was offered a trio of fights last year, one against Audley Harrison and another where £10,000 was on offer. Dallas was tempted but was also keen to stay away from the ring.
When Dallas returns on March 14 at York Hall, he would have had 18 months out.
He said: “I’ve been fighting since I was 10 and never before had a break.
“When I turned 30, I just thought it was time to have a break. I have always kept on training but been able to do what I want.
“I’ve had a season of rugby playing for Lordswood but this opportunity came out of the blue and it’s a chance to put myself back on the map.
“The fights I was offered previously have all been at short notice but now I have plenty of time to prepare.”
