Heavyweight boxer Tom Dallas has been handed a fresh start.
Dallas has signed a deal with Medway-based promoter Joe Elfidh and is being lined up for a fight at Maidstone Leisure Centre on October 29.
Headlining that bill will be Chatham’s Grant Dennis, who could be fighting for the Southern Area belt and an English title eliminator.
Dallas hasn’t boxed since losing to Charles Martin in a WBO NABO heavyweight title fight at Madison Square Garden in New York in April 2015.
Promoter and manager Elfidh said: “He’s in training again after an elbow injury now and will be making a comeback.
“We’ve got a three-fight plan for him and then hopefully he can also be knocking on the door for the Southern Area title.
“He has got a new team behind him and we want to give him some fights close to home to build up his confidence again and get back in the mix. He’ll thrive off it.”
Dallas won his first 15 professional bouts but was halted by former stablemate David Price, who he met with just four days’ notice and suffered an early knockout.
The Medway man continued to take the big fights but was hampered by a niggling elbow injury which he has now had fixed after an operation.
