Adam Dingsdale wants a win with no injuries at Medway Park on Saturday
00:00, 13 March 2015
Adam Dingsdale will be hoping to avoid any dramas when he tops the bill at Medway Park.
He defends his Southern Area lightweight title in May and a meeting with big-hitting Fonz Alexander on Saturday could be the ideal preparation.
Alexander normally fights at welterweight – two weights above Dingsdale – but he’s the man chosen to challenge Medway’s rising star.
“The kid doesn’t get stopped and he is tough,” said Dingsdale, who will fight Michael Devine next in his first area title defence.
“I don’t want to take any silly shots and after my last fight, against Derry Mathews, we’ve ironed out the mistakes and people will see a different fighter this year.
“The opponent is of similar style to Michael Devine. He’s a bit bigger and heavier than Devine but like him, he can throw a big shot.
“It’s not going to be easy and I can’t be looking past this one.
“He can load up and is capable of a big shot but it’s something I’ve been working hard on.
“The main thing is to box nice and get the win, with no injuries.”
Tickets are available on the night at £35 for seating and £60 ringside. Doors open 7.30pm.
