QPR midfielder Michael Doughty is looking for consistency during his loan spell at Gillingham

Michael Doughty is determined to prove he’s not a “one-hit wonder.”
The midfielder earned rave reviews after making his Gillingham debut in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Crawley.
He’s hoping to make a similar impact throughout his loan stay at the club, having joined from Premier League QPR.
Doughty said: “I am by no means anywhere near the finished article but I am certainly improving.
“The praise from other players and the manager is great but you don’t want to be a one-hit wonder. I have to maintain those levels.
“It would have been a dream start had we had won but that elusive win we have all been looking for can come sooner rather than later.”
Doughty has yet to make a Premier League appearance for QPR. Last season he played virtually every game for Stevenage on a season-long loan in League 1.
He said: “Consistency is probably what defines the top, top players to the others.
“It’s the ability to perform on a regular basis in pressurised situations.
“I have probably shown on occasions that I can play but in order for me to progress as a professional and get to the point where I want to in my career, I need to do that on a regular basis.
“I have to show I am willing to put the work in and do as well as I can here first and foremost.”
