Invicta Dynamos beat the league leaders twice last weekend - but they now come up against the bottom two.

Head coach Karl Lennon will ensure his players are just as focused on the teams at the wrong end of the table as they were in their double header against NIHL Division 1 South front-runners Slough Jets.

The Mos head to second-bottom Oxford City Stars on Saturday before a trip to basement side MK Thunder on Sunday.

“It was a big weekend for us with some great results,” said Lennon, following their 8-4 and 4-2 wins over the Jets.

“We now move across to playing a double header away from home against Oxford and Milton Keynes and I know the expectations are there on ourselves but we will be under no illusions that we have got two difficult games ahead of ourselves.

“Of course, we will prepare for that in the right way. We head into those games after our first four-point weekend across the season so far and one we were very happy with.”

Those wins over the Jets ended a tough run of results for the Mos, with a 7-1 win over MK their only league success in their previous seven before last weekend’s double header.

The 8-4 home win had seen the Mos leading 6-0 at one stage before the visitors threatened a fightback in the final period.

Lennon, who had a much stronger roster to choose from than in recent weeks, said: “Across the two games we really nullified their best scorers and we were able to see the result out on Saturday and the boys finished it off with a nice powerplay goal at the end which was the icing on the cake, that gave us a lot of confidence moving into Sunday.

“They came with some changes and we could see that immediately which was interesting and then we had to adjust accordingly. From the start in the first two periods the boys were phenomenal. They listened to the game plan, we matched their scoring lines really well and were then able to, with our other lines, create and cause some huge damage.”
