Gillingham manager Peter Taylor reacts to Saturday's League 1 defeat at Fleetwood Town

Peter Taylor bemoaned the lack of quality in the final third at Fleetwood.
His Gills team had a number of good chances in Saturday’s League 1 clash, most in the first half, but came away empty-handed.
Reacting to the defeat, Taylor said: “I thought the first half was decent. The goal we gave away was a poor goal and two people should have done better.
“The final bit was what was missing. We played some good football first half and I thought if we had been a little bit cleverer and had a bit more quality in the final third we would have scored.”
The Gills were 1-0 down after just three minutes.
“It was very disappointing and very frustrating,” said the Gills boss.
“It is a bad goal and then it puts them on the front foot but I thought we then recovered well. I just felt we were going to score.
“If we had scored it would have given us a boost and we could have gone on from there. But it is very frustrating; it was a very poor goal.
“We had the ball. We had the ball first of all and then we lost it. Eventually then it went to the corner and we didn’t deal with that correctly. It is very frustrating when you have the ball and someone gives it away. Then all of a sudden you are defending.”
