The midfielder joined the Gills in mid-September on a deal until January.

But the former Brighton player has seen little first-team action, making just one substitute appearance, that coming under caretaker boss Peter Taylor.

Starkey hasn’t been included in any matchday squad under current manager Steve Lovell.

His only other senior involvement for the Gills came in the Kent Senior Cup, netting a goal in their match against Phoenix Sports.

Worthing are bottom of the Bostik League, Premier Division, hosting Harrow Borough on Saturday.
