Gillingham’s pies are the most expensive in the division.

But elsewhere the League 1 high-flyers appear to be value for money.

The BBC Sport Price of Football study looked at costs at 230 clubs in 13 leagues across Britain.

The Gills have recently offered reduced-priced tickets in a bid to attract fans and their £15 home ticket in the Town End is as low as any in the whole of the division.

The average cost of a football shirt in England’s top four divisions is £42.18 for adults and £33.78 for children. Gillingham’s cost £39.99 for an adult shirt and £26.99 for juniors.

Programmes at Gills cost £3 – on par with the rest of the division where only Fleetwood offer a different rate, charging just £1.

League 1’s most expensive cuppa costs £2.20 – 20p more than at Priestfield.

The pies are, however, the most expensive in the division, at £3.80. Rochdale’s £2 pie is the cheapest.

Bradford lead the way when it comes to cheap season tickets, costing fans just £149, which has led to crowds just short of 20,000. Gillingham’s cheapest adult season ticket costs £275.

Away fans may be housed in an uncovered stand but tickets remain among the cheapest for visitors, ranging from £15-£21. Only a handful of clubs beat that price.

The three Kent teams in the National League, Bromley, Dover and Welling, all charge £15 admission on match days but Dover will be handing out free beer on Saturday for home fans between 12.30pm and 1.30pm in their home match against Macclesfield.
