Gillingham make pre-tax profit of £111,612 in annual accounts for 2017-18

Gillingham's latest financial accounts show they have made a profit for a second successive year.

The accounts for the year ending May 31, 2018 show Gills made a pre-tax profit of £111,612 - an increase on the £2,084 profit posted for the previous 12 months.

Turnover rose again for a second year in a row, up from £6.3m to more than £7m. This figure included more than £1m in transfer fees which included the sale of Bradley Dack to Championship club Blackburn.

TV and radio income remained constant at £1.4m while the club's banqueting and catering facility increased turnover to nearly £1.2m. The independent school based at Priestfield generated turnover of more than £500,000.

The club's outlay on wages and salaries also increased on the previous 12 months, up from £3.2m to £3.5m.

Club chairman Paul Scally was given a fee of £311,273, up from £208.353 the previous year. Mr Scally also owes the company £90,547 according to the accounts.
