Sheffield United’s last visit to Priestfield was a memorable one for Jermaine McGlashan.

The winger made an explosive impact off the bench, scoring one and setting up another, to seal a 2-0 win over the Yorkshire side.

United head to Priestfield as the bookies’ favourites for the League 1 title but they may be fearing the name of McGlashan.

“I enjoyed the last meeting and wouldn’t have written it any other way,” McGlashan said, as he recalled the February fixture.

“It was the gaffer’s first game and he was in the stands. Everyone wanted to impress.

“He spoke to us before the game and at the time I was going through a phase where I was coming off the bench and doing my bit. As much as I wanted to start, I got a chance at the end to show what I could do.

“I was buzzing and happy with the three points. Everyone is looking forward to the first game now and seeing the back of pre-season.

“I’ve good memories from them coming here last time. I am sure they will have that in the back of their minds and we will too.”
