Goalkeeper coach Jimmy Walker announced before Saturday’s game against Southend that he has left the club.
The former Walsall player has been with the Gills since the start of the season. He revealed his departure on twitter.
Walker tweeted: “Trifle sad not to be with me goalies n staff in the dugout today for @TheGillsFC but with a heavy heart felt the time was right to leave.
“Wanna wish the goalies @TheGillsFC who we’re excellent throughout, the great staff and players all the best for this season and the future.”
Walker came to the Gills after Jason Brown’s sudden exit meant they were in need of a goalkeeper coach. His arrived in the summer having previously been with Peterborough as a coach.
There has been no official comment from the Gills about the departure. Young keeper Tom Hadler joined senior pros Stuart Nelson and Glenn Morris for the pre-match warm-up at Southend on Saturday.
