Kent trampoline star Kat Driscoll has been selected to represent Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
It will be the second Olympics for the 30-year-old Walderslade-born double World Champion, who is now based in the north east but who learned her trade in Medway and is a leading light at Gillingham's Jumpers Rebound Centre.
Four years ago the former Rochester Grammar School for Girls pupil admitted she felt 'horrible' after suffering a heartbreaking exit in the preliminary round at the North Greenwich Arena during the London 2012 Games with her fate decided by the final jump of the competition.
After being confirmed for her second Games on Tuesday afternoon, Driscoll said: “It was an honour to compete at my first Olympic Games and I can't believe I'm back here being selected for my second one.
"I have learned a lot in the last four years and I'm relishing the opportunity to get out there on the big stage again and represent my country the best I possibly can.”
In London Driscoll finished ninth, just 0.010 behind Russian Victoria Voronina, ending her dream of becoming the first British woman to compete in an Olympic trampoline final.
Despite missing out on the final, it was still a historic display, as Driscoll became the highest-ranked Brit in Olympic trampoline history, beating Claire Wright's 10th-place in Beijing four years earlier.
