Young defender Josh Hare could be called upon for Gillingham’s Capital One Cup trip to Yeovil.

The Gills are back in action on Tuesday and boss Peter Taylor is expected to shuffle his pack following the weekend loss at MK Dons.

An injury ruled right-back Matt Fish out of contention at the weekend and Taylor opted to play John Egan in his position.

“The other option was Josh Hareor Aaron Morris but in the end I went with John,” said Taylor.

“For 45 minutes it looked like a decent decision but after they then score four goals all of a sudden it doesn’t look like a good decision. That’s how it goes.

“We will wait to see on Matt Fish. He has been getting slightly better and we might have a look at Josh on Tuesday, to see if he can do well in that position, then we will go from there.

“If the injury to Matt Fish is going to take longer then it is something I may have to speak to the chairman about.”

Hare was on the bench on Saturday but has yet to play for Gillingham’s first team.

One player set to feature is former Manchester United and Fulham midfielder Josh Pritchard, whose pre-season was disrupted by injury.
