Gills loan defender Kortney Hause has been recalled by Wolves.

Hause played 17 times for Gillingham and was part of the team which earned a 1-1 draw at Bradford City on Saturday.

The teenager has become an England under-20 international during his time at Priestfield and was due to stay until January.

But defensive issues at the Championship side have prompted them to end the deal early.

Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett said: “Ethan (Ebanks-Landell) has a hamstring injury and we don’t know how long he will be out for.

“Danny Batth is on four bookings which is one away from a suspension and, defensively, we have let in ten goals in three games.

“Kortney comes back in with some good experience from playing for Gillingham and England under-20s and gives us the chance to have a good look at him.”

The Wolves boss also said the decision to do this now gives the Gills chance to replace Hause before the loan window closes on Thursday.

“Had we gone into next week and then recalled Kortney there wouldn’t have been the opportunity for Gillingham to bring anyone in,” added the Wolves boss.

“It gives them the opportunity to try and make a loan signing if needed.”
