Gillingham 0 Sheffield United 4: Reaction from Gills defender Shad Ogie after FA Cup third round defeat at Priestfield

Gillingham defender Shad Ogie knows lessons need to be learnt from their FA Cup defeat to Sheffield United.
Few could complain about the result but on a day when the Gills needed to be at their very best, they gave the Blades a helping hand, with some individual errors in front of a capacity home crowd.
More: Big moments that could have changed everything
“It was a tough pill to swallow,” admitted the 22-year-old defender. “They are a great side, a Premier League side and we knew that we were expecting.
“We created a good amount of chances but the flip side is that once we created a chance they then get a counter and punish us which is something we need to learn on how to prevent that from happening in the league, but credit to the boys, we dug deep.
“It was just the fine moments that fell in their favour.
“We just have to try and take the positives and take them onto next week. I will look back at the game and see how I can improve as a person and as a player and as a team as well. I am young and it was a learning curve.
“I felt like first half we were on it, then as the game went on they have the majority of possession and they just kept switching it and when they switched it it was really quick and high tempo and we were a bit fatigued.”
The Gills conceded twice in the opening half and twice more late on to lose 4-0.
Ogie added: “The last two goals were sloppy from us, just fatigue, we switched off from a corner and against a tough Premier League side, if you switch off they will punish you.
“I will be disappointed, but not too disappointed, we have to focus on the league, we have had two good performances in the league previous, hopefully long may that continue.”
The Gills have won their last two matches in League 2 and return to league action on Saturday with a trip to Accrington Stanley.
