Ames will captain the GB side with former Holc Sam Ward also included. Great Britain are in Pool A while New Zealand, Germany, Canada and Chile contest Pool B.
The top two teams from each group qualify for the semi-finals, meaning there is a chance Payne, Ames, Roper and Bandurak could face Holcombe teammate Hayden Phillips in the latter stages.
Holcombe player and women’s team assistant coach Phillips has been selected by New Zealand for their upcoming qualifiers.
Both finalists and the winners of the bronze medal match will qualify for Paris 2024.
Great Britain men start their challenge against Pakistan on Monday (January 15, 4:45pm) before facing Malaysia the following day and China on Thursday (January 18).
Semi-finals and ranking matches will take place on Saturday, January 20, with the final fixtures taking place the following day.
Great Britain’s women, meanwhile, will face Canada, Malaysia and Spain in their qualifiers in Valencia, Spain. All GB matches will be shown live on BBC Sport’s digital channels.
Four former Holcombe players have been included in the women’s squad - Sarah Jones, Sarah Robertson, Laura Roper and Miriam Pritchard.
