Doncaster player Cameron Stewart had a lucky escape after a nasty looking fall on Saturday.
Stewart landed on his head during the clash against Gillingham and was taken to hospital.
He fell to the floor after challenging for the ball with Gills midfielder Jermaine McGlashan.
Gills boss Justin Edinburgh defended his player’s action in the incident, saying: “Glash has stood his ground and he (Stewart) has gone over him.
“Hopefully the boy is okay. It did look nasty.”
Stewart was taken to hospital but later discharged with whiplash.
The Doncaster player had earlier scored his side’s opening goal, to get the hosts back into the game.
His goal started the fightback for Doncaster in the 2-2 draw.
