Charlton defender Harry Lennon has extended his loan deal with Gillingham for another month.
The 20-year-old centre-back played six games for the Gills during his initial spell at the club.
Lennon will now remain at Priestfield until December 12. Charlton have yet to give him permission to play in the FA Cup on Saturday.
Manager Justin Edinburgh said: "He has been an excellent addition to our squad and has performed consistently well.
"His defending has been first class and he's also chipped in with a couple of important goals. We very much look forward to working with him again in the weeks ahead."
Gillingham will also soon have Cardiff defender Deji Oshilaja fit, after he returned to training on Monday.
He has been earmarked for a return next week in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
Speaking about the Cardiff defender, Edinburgh said: “He looked sharp and we will build him up. Our aim for him is next Tuesday.”
Extending Lennon’s deal now gives Edinburgh extra options, including the ability to play a wing-back system which he utilised at the end of last season.
“We have to be able to make changes,” he said.
“We don’t want to be restricted or for people to come and nullify us. We need to be able to be change things when we need to.”
Boss Edinburgh is still hoping to clinch a striker on a loan deal before the weekend.
He said: “We have narrowed it down to one and we are waiting on the club to let us know if that’s going to be a possibility.
“He’s young, he’s played men’s football and he fits the mould of what we are looking for.”
