Elliott List has big potential, says Gillingham boss Steve Lovell.
Young Gills forward List was the hero of the FA Cup third round after firing home the winner to beat Premier League Cardiff City at Priestfield.
List came back into the side at the weekend, as Lovell’s only change to his starting XI after being rested in the week for the League 1 game at Southend.
“He has been excellent,” said Lovell. “We had to take him out on Tuesday (at Southend) just to rest him a little bit but he has come back in.
“He has played a lot of games over the Christmas period and he is a young prospect here who we don’t want to lose through injury, so we had to look after him a bit.
“He had an excellent game and caused them no end of problems, him and (fellow forward) Tom Eaves.”
The 21-year-old scored the only goal of the game on Saturday, netting his sixth of the current campaign.
“Potentially he has got everything,” continued Lovell.
“He has strength, he is good in the air, he is quick and he scores goals. He is a great prospect.”
