Lordswood football manager Neil Hunter welcomes the addition of Quinton Naidoo to his coaching team

Lordswood boss Neil Hunter says a welcome addition to his coaching staff has made his life easier.

Quinton Naidoo is back involved at Martyn Grove and is working alongside Hunter for the first time.

Hunter said: “He is a school teacher and his organisation skills are really good. We tell Q what we want and what we want to work on and he works on it. He puts it into practice.

“I have full trust and faith in what the coaching team are doing is correct. We are grown men, not boys, we have respect between each of us.”

Tuesday’s game at Sheppey United ended in a 4-0 defeat but Hunter knew his side were up against it, facing a big-spending title-chasing side who last week added former Gillingham midfielder Michael Freiter to their ranks.

Hunter and his staff will put that one aside and focus on a positive set of results and performances before then, including a 4-0 win over Storrington Community in the FA Vase first qualifying round last Saturday. Prior to that a first league win of the season, at Welling Town, had taken them off the bottom of the SCEFL Premier Division.

“We could have had a couple more on Saturday as well,” said Hunter.

“There is still some way to go, we can still improve, but what they have done in the last few weeks and with having the new coach and things, it has really taken us to another level as in terms of organisation.

“Even before Q came in the improvements were coming, with the guys we have in, they have upped it. I can’t thank my management staff any more than I do. It has made my job so much easier.”

Lordswood don’t have a game scheduled this Saturday, having moved their trip to Tower Hamlets to Wednesday night, but have lined up a friendly with Sittingbourne.
