Gillingham caretaker manager Steve Lovell will change style at Peterborough on Saturday

Steve Lovell is ready to shuffle Gillingham's pack on Saturday in a bid to change their fortunes.
Lovell is in charge of the team at Peterborough in League 1 this weekend after interim boss and director of football Peter Taylor left the club on Thursday morning - as revealed by KentOnline.
Ahead of the Peterborough trip, Lovell confirmed he had spoken to Gills chairman Paul Scally.
"I’ve spoken to him but he’s left it to me," stated Lovell.
"It is all down to me, I will make the decisions regarding the team and the way we’re going to play.
"We’ve worked on it this morning and we’ll do it again tomorrow. I’m just looking at Saturday’s game and whatever happens after that we won’t know until after the game."
Lovell intimated that it will be a more attacking formation - with goalshy Gills having found the net just six times in 12 league games so far this season.
"It will be different," he added. "My style of football, I’ve got a way of playing that I’m not going to divulge obviously. I’ve got a way that I enjoy, that I think players will enjoy and express themselves.
"We wanted to be more attacking before but sometimes the quality of the ball isn’t good enough or there weren’t enough options ahead.
"We’ve got to be tight defensively but we’ve got to do better with the ball. If you have more options when you have the ball then you’ve got more chance of creating things.
"My relationship with the players will be good if they do the jobs I ask them to do. I’ve got to have people here to fight for the club."
"I don’t know how long it’s going to be but at the moment I’ve been put in charge for Saturday.
"I love the football club, I live in the area and have been involved for over 20 years. I want the club to succeed and the fans to enjoy and embrace the performances.
"Hopefully I am going to make people see there is a different way of doing things on Saturday."
On Taylor's departure, Lovell said: "Shocked - but there’s no surprises in football. It’s just another one to deal with and you get on with it.
"Whatever’s happened is in the past and all we can think about now is the game against Peterborough.
"Whatever I spoken about before doesn’t matter. It’s about what I’m going to do now. I will do it the way I want to do it.
"I will put a team out that I want to put out. I will play a formation the way I want to play. We will roll our sleeves up and have a go and put on a performance that people will hopefully enjoy."
