Medway Messenger Sunday League round-up (04/04/21): Grassroots football is back

There were goals galore as the Medway Messenger Sunday League returned to action following a near four-month lay-off.

Chatham Town Sundays led the way in the Senior Section with a 6-1 win over Bells thanks to Sam Stace, Jack Couzens (2), Matthew Getthing (2) and Danny Grant. Emanuel Oli replied.

It was a game of two penalties as Robbie Summerhayes scored for Cliffe Woods Colts and Michael Jenner converted a second half spot-kick for leaders Quested in a 1-1 draw.

Rainham Kenilworth Athletic had a 2-1 victory over Star Meadow with their goals from Ryan Jones and Jack White, the visitors' reply came from Ryan Bushell.

David Latunde hit a hat-trick in 16A's 6-1 victory over Intergills in the Premier Division. Their other goals came from Chimdi Otuadinma, Kane Taylor and Lorenzo Cuozzo.

Aaron Lorentson (2), Brandon Berry, Nick Hadris, Callum Bramwell and Jack Bramwell were all on the scoresheet for Medway Sport in their 6-0 success against Cliffe Woods Rangers.

Andy Collins, Glen Drysdale, Paul Wittington and Graeme Barnes netted for Medway Lions in their 4-1 win against Thamesview, Daniel McCormick replying.

Goals from Calvin Sills and Chris Elliott (2) were not enough for Park Regis Fountain as they went down 4-3 to Borden Park Wanderers, for whom Liam Ogle (2), Ashley Claridge and Lewis Austin netted.

Andre Marjolin scored the only goal of the game for Anchorians against Pentagon.

In Division 1, Cross Park shared the points with Cliffe Woods Colts A in a 1-1 draw. Mike Dungworth scored the Cross Park goal with Connor Linton replying for Cliffe Woods Colts A.

Cuxton 91 and Rochester played out a goalless draw while New Brompton 1893 were defeated 3-0 by Medway Rovers 17, who scored through Caleb Dyce (2) and Teddy Haysman.

Rainham Kenilworth Rangers lost 3-2 to Omega 92, Daniel Lee, Aaron Neal and Joe Green netted for Omega 92 while Michael Freeman and James Saffery led Wigmore to victory over Bredhurst Rovers.

The highest score of the day went to Division 2 FC Catalans with a 16-1 thrashing of Rainham Eagles. Sam Heard (5), Jack Yeowell (4), Ryan Fuller (3), Josh Shaw, Jordan Leitch, Jacob Marsh and James Day were their scorers.

Anchorians United shaded Bredhurst Juniors 2-1 with a brace from Jamie Reeves, George Cowdery hit the Bredhurst reply.

Sam Wells, Josh Houghton, Fabian Bzdek and Jamie Blackham all found the net for Chatham Town MFC 4-1 victory over Gillingham Town.

Stewart Gold scored for Medway Athletic 19 as they suffered a 4-1 defeat to Cliffe Woods Colts Reserves, whose goals came from a Ashley Trigg hat-trick and Nye Griffiths.

Dan Oliva and George Beadle were on target for Eagles in their 2-0 win at Palmerston Athletic while Pentagon Reserves went down 5-0 to Milton & Fulston United, who scored through James Gasson hat-trick, Luke Mills and Charley Kavanagh.

In Division 3, Five Bells scored 14 without reply against Rochester Eagles with goals from Ben Smith (5), Jack Marshall (3), Lewis Dartnell (2), Blake Cavender, Lee Sturgeon and Wayne Watson (2).

Eagles Gold and ASK Medway drew 3-3. Bailey Hooker (2) and Stanley Barnes with the Eagles Gold goals, Bobby Stuart with a brace and Kye Humphrey netted for ASK Medway.

Ross Wornham, Brad Kiddell and Chris Cowburn claimed the High Halstow goals in their narrow 3-2 victory over Bredhurst, who replied through Kye Knappitsch and Joe Balderston.

Louie Crompton and Ryan McDonald ensured Real 60 brought home the points in a 2-1 win against Medway Rovers 20 - Sam Kenny with the visitors' goal.

Caleb Luckhurst, Kane Parkes (3) and Malachi Benjamin were on target for Swallow Rise in their 5-1 victory over Medway United West.
