Anchorians Football Club are among the early nominations in this year’s Medway Sports Awards – should your team or club be following them?
Anchorians are nominated in the club of the year category after another successful 18 months at the Darland Avenue-based outfit.
Since the last Medway Sports Awards, Anchorians has continued to be the only FA Charter Standard Community Club in the Medway Towns and was awarded the Kent FA Community club of the year for 2013.
Club chairman Leigh Willis said: “Anchorians FC continues to offer as many participation opportunities as possible to the local community, with over 500 participants taking part across their soccer schools, school links, team training sessions and matches each week.
“Anchorians volunteer workforce works hard as a team, to ensure that everyone who enquires is given the opportunity to take part no matter the ability or gender of the participant.
“Thanks to this hard work, determination and drive to get everyone and anyone involved, it has created a family friendly club that constantly evolves for the benefit of its players/volunteers on and off the pitch.
“Ensuring that as many players can play and no matter if it’s a win, lose or draw, everyone has fun and enjoyment!”
Anchorians are bound to face plenty of competition in what is always a popular category, so why not make sure your club is in the running and nominate them today.
This year’s gala awards evening will take place on Friday, December 12, at Rochester’s Corn Exchange. There are 11 categories, including a new award recognising achievements in officiating, umpiring or refereeing.
